GAP 2013 Camping and Lodging

Posted by on January 18, 2013

Here is the official list for the 2013 GAP ride’s Camping and Lodging!

Of course this is where I am staying. You are free to spend the night anywhere you like on the trip of course. Just let me know if you will be staying where I’m staying (especially at the ones that cost moolah).

  • CEDAR CREEK (near Smithton, PA) Primitive Campground. FREE.
  • KENTUCK KNOB CAMPGROUND (Ohiopyle, PA) To save money I have changed the Ohiopyle lodging to camping. It is only a half mile hike from the trail up a 300 foot hill to get to the campground. I’ve stayed here before and the campground is a nice one and has hot showers. If it is just me going it would cost $15. Two People= $7.50 per person. Three or more= $5.00 per person.
  • HUSKY HAVEN CAMPGROUND (Rockwood, PA) A fantastic campground with super friendly people running it. I made a point to stay here again. $10 per person.
  • THE INN ON DECATUR (Cumberland, MD) A bed and breakfast in Cumberland, supposedly the best on the entire trail. So I wanted to try it. The room can accommodate up to three people. If only I stay here, the cost would be $135.66, two people would be $76.38 each and three $56.62 each.
  • DEVILS ALLEY CAMPSITE(near Little Orleans, MD) Primitive Campground. FREE.
  • JORDAN JUNCTION CAMPSITE (near Williamsport MD) Primitive Campground. FREE.
  • HUCKLEBERRY HILL CAMPSITE (near Harpers Ferry, WV)  Primitive Campground. FREE.
  • LOCKHOUSE 22 (Pennyfield Lock, MD near Great Falls) Stay the night in a historic Lockhouse! Thought this would make an awesome last night on the trail. Can accommodate up to four comfortably, but can hold eight. Cost for just me $100.  2=$50.00 each, 3=$33.34 each, 4=$25.00 each and so on.

Are you ready to go? Just fill out the form below or email me the information before March 6th.

Don’t like online forms? You can always just email me the above information or message me on Facebook.

About Paid Lodging

The above form lists all the paid lodging options. If you will be joining me at any of those points, please let me know by clicking the checkbox next to the appropriate place(s). All other lodging will be primitive camping. If you don’t want to camp or prefer to arrange your own lodging on this trip, please visit the GAP website and BIKE WASHINGTON to get an idea on other places to stay.
